I am trying to flash my xbox with the latest lt+ firmware but my pc doesn't reconize my drive.when the pc boots it shows my dvd drive.i have tried a couple of suggestions but to no avail.my pc chipset is intel 82801GB/GR/GH(ICH7).I installed port i/o automatically.
Agreed. If your chipset isn't compatable with Jungle Flasher then your drive wouldn't show up. You want to buy a sata raid card which has the via 6421 chipset. They can be bought pretty cheap; $7-$20. Then install it and follow the steps in Jungle Flasher to remove the via drivers so Jungle Flasher doesn't lock up during flashing.

the main causes of it not recognizing a drive is that the drive isn't ready, and the hardware list isn't updated.. You have to hit the eject button, and wait for the tray to auto-close, but put your finger in there or something and don't let it close (keep it partially open). When it stops trying to close (light should keep blinking), then you have to go into your hardware monitor (in windows) and scan for new device (or refresh device list... whatever it's called, I forgot). Then, open jungleflasher and start looking for the drive. Then just go from there.
You may also have to change a BIOS setting (many people do, including me)... but I don't remember the specifics off the top of my head. you can google or someone here might know or have a link.
Make sure jungleflasher sees port I/O. It will show in the readout window.
Also, make sure you have power to the drive (from your 360). sounds silly, but people oversee the simplest things sometimes...
If that doesn't work, just ask some more. You seem to have everything you need, so all you need is a little trouble-shooting.
[rant]And guys... come on. Many ICH7-based chipsets are well-known to work perfectly well in this application. There are members on this forum who have posted numerous times that people with the same model of ICH7 chipset that Moejoo has have had no problems. Go to google and search this: site:forums.afterdawn.com "Intel 82801GB/GR/GH (ICH7 Family)" (and that's just the afterdawn forums). Buying anything is an absolute last resort, only after confirming that their chipset is not compatible-- not a 'hey, try this.' This is his money that I'm sure he's worked hard to earn. There are threads in that search where poor trouble-shooting advice was given, and people were told to buy pci sata controllers before other causes were properly ruled out. But we must rule out all other possibilities or he will be in the exact same situation when it arrives, except with a thinner wallet.[/rant]
