Everything was going great flashing my BenQ up from 1.51 to 1.61. Until I noticed that Jungleflasher was not responding according to the top of the window. I waited a couple of minutes, no change. I looked at the front of the 360, and I noticed that the power light had gone off. It had previously been flashing since I got the tray to half close. I pressed power, and it froze my computer completely.

I rebooted the computer, and it wouldn't boot up. I turned off the computer, disconnected the 360, and it booted fine. I turned off the 360, and reconnected it to the computer, there were no problems. I turned on the 360 while it was connected to my computer, and it froze everything again.

Does anyone have a solution, or is my drive/360 bricked?

For reference, my BenQ is a VAD6038 64930c, and I was using the Via SATA card.

This was my first time using Jungleflasher, and I followed the various tutorials to the letter. I knew I should have waited for an updated iPrep.

I look forward to any help, and thank you in advance.

If it were a Hitachi, you would be screwed. Luckily for you, BenQs don't brick from bad firmware.

Whenever my PC won't boot up with a 360 drive, I hook up a different SATA DVD drive to it and boot up with that. In my case, I use my Blu-Ray drive. So I boot up with the Blu-Ray, then, once Windows is all booted up, I swap over to the 360 drive.

I am going to guess that the reason your 360 turned off is that you did not have the AV cable plugged in to it. If you plug it in, your 360 won't turn off turning flash.

$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

You are correct. I forgot to plug in the AV Cable, and it turned off during the write process. So, to keep my PC from freezing, I plug my SATA cable from my VIA card to a SATA computer DVD drive, then after Windows boots, I unplug my computer's DVD drive, and plug the SATA cable that was plugged into it into my 360's DVD drive, and my computer shouldn't freeze? Will I be able to flash my 360 with Jungleflasher like normal, then?

Thanks for your help
