I've read throughout the forum and havent found any answers to my confusion. I'm looking for someone to give me a little 101 on this subject.
i paid someone about 2 years ago to flash my 360 and it has been working just fine. i had to use the activate disc on a lot of games, it's annoying but works.
1. Can you determine which version of IXTREME Firmware i have from that information?
2. Is there a new firmware out that eliminates the use of the "Activate Disc"?
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (ACB)
i have a burnt copy and went to play it today (11-29-10) and was prompted to update. After the update i now had the kinnect dashboard and was unable to play the game (always gave me an "unreadable disc error"). Black ops and Fable 3 work fine, but not Assassins Creed Brotherhood. I've read things about patching, but don't fully understand how or what that means. Do i have to reflash with a new firmware or is there a simple work around? Can i go back to the previous dashboard? If so, how do i do that?
I'm really trying to learn about this and would be very appreciative if someone could lend me a helpding hand, Thank you

I wish you would have came here and read up on the new AP2.5 before you attempted to boot ACB. The dirty disc error is a sign that your console is now flagged for the next ban wave (not 100%). You might want to grab a program called (xval). If it says that your secdata is clean, then you might be okay. ACB has a new protection measure in it called AP2.5(Anti-Piracy), as well as the new Need for Speed, and one more that I can't remember. You can fix the issue with it not reading by flashing your 360 to the latest firmware (LT+). You can't go back a dashboard, as the efuses are burnt out. You don't have to worry about patching the ACB.iso if you run it through abgx on level 3. The best advise I could give is to flash to LT+, and hope that you're not flagged.

when you say "banned" are you referring to Xbox Live ban? If so i've been banned already since COD MW2 banning. I didnt look around because when i first played ACB 2 weeks ago i didnt have the problem. I loaded it tonight and had to update.
If i flash to the LT+ will this allow me to play the game (ACB) from that point on?

Well since there is nothing else to refer to but xbox live about being banned, then yes he was talking about live. And flashing to lt+ should solve your problem with game failing ap2.5 and not loading.

hi there, i`m hoping that someone can help me because wherever i look, i can`t find the answer to my question. Here goes,.... I have just had my xbox elite flashed to the new lite on+ firmware. Do i have to do anything to the ap 2.5 games (fable 3, assasins creed brotherhood etc) for them to work with this brand new firmware, or will they load straight up? I am being told that when i load up the new need 4 speed, it will ask me to update off the disc, will this just give me the new dashboard for kinect?

also i forgot to mention that i don`t and wont go on xbox live, so i am not bothered about being banned. Thanks in advance for any replys, and apologies if i sound stupid!

thanks for the reply. I havn`t ever used xbgx so not sure what i`m doing. I`m presuming you select the xbox 360 iso and click launch on xbgx. Do i have to alter any of the settings in the program, also i know this program does various checks, but does it actually repair the iso if needed, or do i have to do that manually. Sorry for being a complete thicko with this, but more information would stop the grey hairs growing!

YES, it will repair, patch stealth and make the game ready for play, you may have to patch manually the ssv2 but if your not worried about xbox live dont worry about the ssv2

AFAIK and I may be wrong, the AP25 is not in the Wave partition so you cannot patch like you do with the whole wave 3,4,5,6,7 shabang.

i would check youtube for some video's there are some kids out there playing without the ap2.5 / as far as updating if you need the drive updated and have the hardware i can do it over teamviewer for you.

check everything with a blue exlamation next to it ... and modify from there if you need to, if youre banned from xbox live, i wouldn't even bother patching them.

I would do it anyway in case you borrow disks to someone else or they dont have the correct layerbreak set. It only takes a minute or so to run a ISO through ABGX

i've reflashed the xbox 360 with LT but i have 1 problem. The ACB i originally backed up will not play. It spins but screen stays black. This was the ACB i played that required an update which wouldnt allow me to play the disc any longer. Do i need to get a new copy?

I just upgraded to lt+ and wanted to try to go online but Im still at the old dashboard. Is it ok to update when I get the prompt? I know I may get banned but Im ok with it. Thanks for any help.
