Kinect dash wont play Kinect games

Right im probably going to ask a daft question but i shall ask nonetheless.
I have several xbox 360's in the house. I have updated two of them to the latest dash. One is banned and the other is not. The banned console has a Benq drive with LT1.1 not the new LT+ (havent bothered to update yet) and the other non banned console has a Sammy drive with LT.
The sammy drive will read the Kinect games with no problem. The BenQ however will read the games but when it boots up i get the message that the game needs an update and to connect to live blablabla.
Can anyone explain why the BenQ is doing this. I thought that the new LT+ was only to bypass the AP25 games although im beginning to wonder if im wrong.
Any help appreciated.

You need to flash the benq to LT+ in order for it to play kinect games and any AP2.5 games. The new dash can detect LT1.1 on the benq, and therefore won't play kinect and AP2.5. The sammy will work fine with LT as it cannot read AP2.5 and should play kinect games flawlessly.

I HAVE flashed to LT+1.1 (the one that was just released today) on the BenQ and still get the error message. Also i was led to believe that the Kinect games are not AP2.5 anyway but updated to LT+ just incase and still get the message that i need to perform a system update.

This is getting more weird. I have noticed when i select to play the kinect title from dash it tells me i need an update BUT if i press Y for game info then select play game then the game will boot. After it boots it says 'a system update is required to use Kinect go to www.........' but the game runs in the background.
Its as if when i installed the official update it didnt transfer the content to make kinect work across. I have tried to update dash again but as im on the latest one the machine wont detect a dash update so i can reinstall it. Very bizarre.
Looks like i will need to wait on a new dash update but it would appear that this is where the problem lies as opposed to the firmware which i first thought.
Ah well brightside is that im updated to New LT+. Downside is i cant play kinect.

Hi
I have exactly the same problem.
My drive is benQ.
First I used the adventures in the kinect pack and it worked fine. But when I inserted Harry potter it said that an update is required. I pressed ok and ... Got your problem!!
Can I connect to live and let it download the "system update" it says is required?!

Im still in the same boat. Hoped running retail kinect adventures would sort the problem but it hasnt. Still get the same message when trying to load a kinect game.

I have seen this issue on 2 xboxes, both were banned. I do not believe this is an issue with modding but rather an issue with MS updates. I spoke to a woman at xbox customer support that said as much. She said, missing an update and then updating for the Kinect has caused issues. IE banned xboxes tend to miss updates
With one of the xboxes I was able to fix the problem by doing an update via USB to dash 12611 (newest dash). You can fallow the tutorial here...

The other xbox I have already has the newest dash and is still having the issue.

Okay,I fixed mine by doing what Microsoft told me, updating through Live without a disc in the tray. That had my Kinect games running again in a few minutes :)

Same problem....
I have a modded and banned xbox360 (I don't know what version etc. since I purchased it modded and know nothing about it. Any tips will be appreciated!), It works great offline - I apply WAVE2 to all copied game (the last was CODBO) and all is OK.
I got a kinect. connected it, updated from the game and all worked great! Even the avatars came back...
Then I tried a copied kinect game (after i applied wave2). I see the game icon on the dash... I was asked to update, answered "YES", and since then I get "a system update is required to use kinect" every time I start the xbox... I can't start any kinect game (other games still work). I used MS' latest update (12611) with a USB stick, which made things worse (avatars gone again) and didn't help - I still get "a system update is required to use kinect" every time I power the xbox and no kinect game works (not even the one that came with it......)
Can you please help me?

As above, I've seen this fixed by doing an update via USB. I have also encountered an xbox with this issue that only had the issue when the hard drive was NOT connected. So try it with a hard drive if you haven't already.

thanks for the reply! i got it to work by burning to dvd and doing the latest update 12625.
i also have another xbox that is not modded and used the disk that came with the used kinetic (i got today at goodwill for 20$!)and that worked fine.
on mine, flashed console thats banned, i had used the usb beta version and had tried every update except for the last one. and still had gotten the nagging update screen.
so in think it had something to do with that?
