Lite-on 83850C Questions

I have ran into a bit of trouble finding out some what I would believe to be easy to find questions.

With the 83850C i am hearing mixed opinions of whether I need a xtractor or not.
Just to get it clear which software and hardware will I be needing?

Also what is a good tutorial to follow?

My other question is once i have connected the Lite-on to the computer via the sata will it be necessary to open and close turn off and that kind of thing as they show in some videos?

Hi,
All you need is JungleFlasher as well as the iXtreme firmware for software.

For hardware I would recommend a PCI VIA6421 SATA card, a CK3 Connectivity Kit, and a Probe v2 (This is the easiest way).

As all LiteOn are meant to have a full MRA dump of the firmware, you will need to cut traces and reseal them. You can do this with the cheap conductive "glue" that TX have suggested to buy really easily with a toothpick or cotton bud or something.

All you need to do once connected is follow the very easy JungleFlasher tutorial exactly - nothing should go wrong..

If you have no luck I would recommend sending your drive off to xboxflashing.com - they fixed a drive or two that my friends messed up, and theyre quick and pretty cheap.

Is the Connectivity Kit absolutely necessary with the 83850C? The same as with the probe? Are you able to power it on without these?
