I tried to mod my friends Lite-On 83850c and got as far as reading the key then when I powered off the xbox the tray opened by itself. I thought ok it's probably just because i was reading the firmware so I got a spare Hitachi and flashed it with stock and spoofed it as a Lite-On 83850c to test it before erasing his Lite-On, But I powered on his xbox and the Hitachi ejected and it displayed opening even though it was opened. I closed the tray and it tried to read but still said closing then just ejected again while still saying opening. Does anyone know what might have caused this or how to fix it?
And he says changing the drive doesnt help him either just like my problem. It's like the xbox can't tell whether the tray's fully opened or fully closed and keeps sending the command to open it again thinking its jammed and not shutting, But for a second the drive tries to read and spin.
EDIT: I got a key from the drive yeah and tried to spoof to hitachi and it still kept opening.
