Right well i did write this post up once but i deleted it by accident.

Basically i flashed the drive it was working fine and i could play backups they loaded slightly slower than usual and also there was a loud noise sounding as if the drive was spinning a million times a second. I tried putting vasaline on it etc and making sure all the screws wer tight. That didn't work, i then tried cleaning up the solder so see if it was shorting anything it shouldnt be. Problem now is the pad for 3v (when obtaining the key) has come off and also the r707 pad has some off. Now the drive wont read any discs, it sounds as if its attempting to read them but never does and after a minute it gives up and says "open tray" on the xbox dashboard.

Any suggestions are welcome. thanks

When my liteon stops reading backups, I insert my original copies and let the system read them, Then I eject and re-insert the tray up to 5 times as fast as I can, then insert my backup and it works. Weird.
