Hi, I have a lite-on with the open tray error, ive tried pot calibration and went all the way to 3.00 and its still not working so I suspect its the laser.

Im just going to buy a new DVD drive. Its a june 09 83850 lite on, so I suspect its a v1. Either way, I can easily dump the firmware off the drive

Can I get any lite on 7xxx, 8xxx or 9xxx as I hear they are the same hardware just with different firmware versions or am I stuck looking for a 83850 v1 drive?
