Lite on drive,sata port broke if i buy another Drive....

I tried to update to LT 1.1 & notice the sata port came loose and 1 of the pins are broken, i notice people selling replacement drives on ebay if i were to buy another dvd drive of the exact same model would i be able to install on the xbox 360 without running into any problems.

Also i saved my key from my dvd drive before flashing it ,after buying a new drive would the key be able to help in any way if i were to flash my new drive?

im sorry for the dumb question its just the only thing ive ever done is flash a xbox 360 so i just want to make sure i wont run into any problems if i were to buy a replacement DVD drive.
