Im reading a thread with the same problem this one here

ps2menace says " Make a boot disk with l-o-erae.exe, dosflash 1.7 and dosflash.typ on it. Andput your lite_cfw.bin on it too. Do the erase in dos with l-o-eras #### (where #### is your port)
Keep doing it until you get status of FF72
Then run dosflash and flash your drive with your lite_cfw.bin you made in Jungleflasher."
I have downloaded liteon erase, dosflash 1.8 (should I download 1.7 as stated?) he says put dosflash.typ on it, whats that didnt get that file when I extracted dosflash from rar.
Another thing is I did this with another computer so Im not sure what my port will be on this computer, how do I figure that out?

been a couple weeks since I had it assembled but from what I recall the center light did flash then a msg from microsoft came up about repair and if I remember correctly the bottom right red light came on

then you have a board problem,,not a flash problem,,you need a reflow,,

I dont think so , this 360 worked fine before I messed up flashing this drive. Can you answer the questions I asked so I can go on with flashing this drive please, if once thats complete we'll see if theres a board problem. thanks

wow,,have you been up all night,,you said when you turned on the xbox a message came up about a repair,,that would not be a flash problem,,the way to find out is turn on the xbox with out the drive plugged in,,if the red light comes on,,yes you have a board problem,,if it doesnt,,then ill tell you how to do it throught jungleflasher,,

ok, Ive tried to flash my liteon but during the flash it messed up, now theres no firmware on it. According to that tutorial I linked to in my first msg I need to erase with a bootable usb using dosflash and liteon erase. I had two questions about that process described in the link. If you cant answer those , and continue to insist my board is fried then Ill wait for someone else to answer the questions, the board isnt fried because it worked fine until the flash didnt work.
When I turned it on and that red light came on it was with the drive in it. Im not concerned about the board, just the drive, once I get the drive flashed and put it all back together and if I get the rrod the I appologize , you're right my board is fried but lets deal with the drive right now, thats the whole point of this post.

ok I got the dosflash.typ file. So my only question is, now that Im using a different computer to flash my drive and my drive isnt being detected by jungleflasher , now do I know what port to type for liteonerase.exe?

ok pc is on,,your xbox is on,,drive is plugged into your pc board or your via card,,start jungleflasher,,go to mtk flash,yes your drive does not show,,dont worry its there,,click vendor intro,,click yes again,,then do the one second power cycle on the drive,,do this twice and your drive should show up in vendor mode,,

ok, I did like you said. and both times got Device intro failed, status 0xD2
in the port properties section of the mtkflash tab it says i/o address 0xCF00 type:sata channel:primary position:master device via vt6421 Raid controller
so Im guessing that 0xCF00 is the correct port, right?
Like I said in my first post in this thread, seems dosflash is the way to fix this non firmware liteon. Im going to run mtkflash again while I wait for a response on this thread, if it doesnt work Im going to start making a bootable usb and try following the instructions on the link I provided at the top
oh and btw I get no red lights when turning the 360 on without the drive in

ok,,great to hear its not your board,,you also mt not have the right drivers for your sata in your pc,,are you using the onboard chipset or do you have a via card,,maybe your pc cant see the drive,,may go back to the first one you where using,,

Ya Im on the original comp, I just ended up formatting it to win7 (was previously xp) . Im using the pci card thats supposed to be used. Disabled via onboard, deleted vsmraid.sys and installed portio32. Everything looks the way it should in device manager. Problem is I can't remember exactly what port it was when I tried a couple weeks ago. I made a usb boot disc with hp tool, and put all the apps on it that I was supposed to according to the link in my first post, problem is I cant get the comp to boot the usb drive. even if I disable everything in the boot priority except removable drives, it still wont boot, so Im now having a problem using dosflash.
