Liteon 93450c Freezes my pc

I know this issue has probably arisen many times, but all the forums and all the posts I've searched has not helped me. I cannot dump the f/w from the new liteon 93450c drive. It locks my pc up the minute I power the drive up. Here's some stats:
HP Pavilion running windows xp sp2
VIA 6241 Raid Pci Card
Ck3 Powering drive
Drive is already set for BOXXRD's method.
I was a solder/rework tech for a while, i have confidence in my "work". But even when i disable via card, delete viamraid.sys from driver folder, the liteon still jacks my pc up. I have tried every sata port on the 6241, to no avail.
That being said, i switched to dos mode to see how far I could get..I used the newest iprep (10.7 i think) to format and make bootable a 2gig usb stick. Restart windows, boot from usb, run dosflash and cannot for the life of me get drive in vendor mode. Always 0x52, or 0xD2(off).
I have tried numerous combinations of timing with the intro, drive tray positions, and switch on/off. I'm just out of ideas, and my heads starting to hurt.
I wouldn't say I'm a noob, i've flashed 15-20 different drives before this, but I still have a lot of learning to do. I would greatly appreciate any input at all, even just "ideas". Thank you.

I've done a few. You need to use jungle flasher and the vampire probe. Have you flashed other drives before? There is no certain timing. You just hit intro, and then probe the vias. You did cut the traces right?

Thanks for your reply. I have flashed some benq's, a few shitachis, and some 7 series liteons. But never this one. What's this vampire probe you mentioned? Gotta do what I gotta do. All I have is the ck3 kit and the probe that came with it.
edit- the traces were cut and jumpers ran according to boxxdr method.

-edit- So if i were to buy this kit, how would it work with the freezing issue I'm having...or is that the cure?

u dont need to buy the kit,u can make your own vamp probe

reinstall your card again might fix it

I think I will buy one of those kits too as I have about 4 liteon 9x drives sitting here and Im looking how to dump the keys as well.. (hence how I came upon this thread). Whats the difference between the $35 one and the $38 one besides the additional probe? Is that probe really needed?

ok, i have the 6421 too, wondering whats causing the freezing. Would it help to clean install windows with the via card NOT in the bus, then inserting it bun not letting anything install?

The only probe you need is a vampire. This method should be done on all lite-on's and not just the 9xxx series. This is a full dump method and more safe for xbox live. The 707 method is only a paritial dump. I solder too, I don't use that messy glue.

Ok, thanks for all your help...it appeared to not be a driver issue as much as a power drain...I was messing around, and unplugged the dvd rom...when i turned the ck3 on, it took 20 seconds or so to lock up. So I brought out the old desktop (i don't throw anything away) and used it's psu to run the ck3, and voila..no freezing. Now to get a usable status on the drive.

Yeah, it's a good idea to unplug all drives but the one your flashing and your OS drive. I have issues when I have all mine plugged in.
