hi, i managed to jtag my falcon and retrieve my cpu/dvd key since the box that i got off ebay recently won't play games, only dvd's, the seller mentioned that someone replaced the drive but didn't save the dvd key.
If i install Xellous/XBR will I be able to play games off the drive or hard drive only?
do i HAVE to flash the liteon 74850c with the ixtreme firmware to play backups?
yes the console has to be flashed to play games still. but with a jtaged console you dont need a dvd drive, just get an external hard drive and use it for all your games.

did some sleuthing, so do you mean my console has to be flashed with Xell & XBR_Falcon_8955_1.zip
If i can play off hard drive, its even better, i don't have to worry about buying verbatim media or scratching discs... Is there some prep that needs to be done to load a game from an ext usb drive?
