Just got this reader/writer, question is: Once firmware is update so it can write xgd3 games can we still use it for general purpose / everyday reading/writing or it must be swwitched back to its' original firmware?

The drive will retain all of its other functions and still work as it did when the firmware was stock.

The BurnerMax firmware simply adds functionality. It takes away nothing at all.
