Ok, i'm pretty sure i did this right but i just wanted to make a post here to get some feedback. Ok, so i HAD a modded 360 a while back with a benq drive,I got banned but it really didn't effect me too much. Eventually, my box got tons of redrings/e74/e79's fixed and fixed and fixed... finally just fried. So i went out and got myself an xbox 360 Arcade. It had a Liteon DG-16D2s-09c. I thought, hey lets see if i cant spoof my lit-on firmware to my benq drive. My thinking is to have 2 drives, 1 modded, 1 origional and switch back and forth when i want to play online, avoiding the ban hammer(possibly). If i DO get banned it's not that huge of a deal. Play the 3 oem games online that i have with an unmodded box, or play the 150 backups i have with a modded.... yeah, no competition. So I used a combination of Jungleflasher (to get the liteon keys), 360 firmware toolbox(to spoof the firmware) and dosflash32 to flash the benq drive. Everything went pretty smoothly, but after i got throught the process, i remembered reading somewhere that before re-flashing/upgrading benq's you need to flash it with the origional firmware. I did not do this. I'm at work so i have not had a chance to test out the drive yet, but i'm hoping it worked...
Do all 83xx have LT firmware, i'm reading that it's only 83xx v2 and 93xx that has the LT FW and cannot be spoofed, and only I'm not exactly sure how to tell if i have V2 or not. It's not printed anywhere on the label as far as i can see. The production date on my liteon is June, 2009.

Well, i took the drives home and they both worked. The BenQ with iextreme 1.6 spoofed as a Liteon worked perfectly. I didnt even realize that you dont need a probe to extract the key from the 09c drives... Neato

On the underside of the DVD drive's PC board there is a square label stating the version number. I've only noticed them on the 83850v2 and 93450 because I had to remove it to cut traces.
