Hey all, I am pretty much new to this drive flashing and was looking for a bit of advice as I'm stuck to say the least. I am trying to repair my friend's 360 elite as the drive (a liteon dg 16d2s) no longer reads discs. The plan was to replace the drive with a Benq Vad6038 drive which I have bought. Im just not totally sure on how to retreive the key from the Liteon and put it on the Benq. I do not wish to play backups, just a working machine that will go on xblive. I have bought the xecuter CK3 with probe and tried to set this up to get the key. I downloaded the usb drivers, which seemed to install ok. But when I try to run the CK3 Tool 1.2.4 i keep getting an error saying that the installer has to close, has anyone out there got any clue as to how to help me??? I feel totally stuck and I dont want to let my friend down as he has forked out all this money on the new drive etc. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

my advice would be to drop the CK3 programme:

a) Find out what version of the DG 16d2s you have then nip over and grab yourself a copy of the jungle flasher manual @ rev 1.66 or Leerages 'tut' found by seaching for the specific drive or indeed in his sig on here @ afterdawn.

b)Also if you have that version of lite-on in an elite, surely it must be inside it's warrenty so why open it when you could of sent it off to be repaired?

c) Surely the fact that you will have exchanged drives yourselves makes you just as likely to be banned than if you'd flashed the fw to play backed up games ?????? Can someone verify that for me please :) IMHO You've basically modded the box outside of M$ control.......

But if you are still going ahead to do this then all the help and info you need is here on this very forum :)
