I replaced my fans with a set of the talismoon whisper max that I run at 12v constantly, I cut some of the chasis to increase air flow, and I did the fan shroud mod. XEXmenu indicates my temps at 45-50C, but i want to get my jtag as cool as possible. Think this is running too hot still?

I am thinking of removing the dvd drive and putting an 80mm or 120mm exhaust fan in its place that vents out the top. I am going to replace the gpu heat sink with a 2nd gen jasper heat sink. I have also seen people put smaller fans on the cpu and the gpu (don't know what size if anyone could help with that).

Let me know your thoughts about what is worth wild here, and if anyone can toss me a link to a tut that would be great since I cannot find a decent one at this time.

I think it is pretty awesome that you can water cool an xbox. I feel I have the skill to do it, but the cost and time are not right for me right now. I am used to the loud hum of the talismoon fans, so I figure adding a couple extra fans wont be too bad as long as they are quieter than the talismoon fan.

45C isnt bad really. If you were to remove the DVD drive though I'd put a CPU heatsink on the GPU instead since it has more surface area to dissipate heat. Then for the fan on top I'd make it intake instead since you already have 1 high speed exhaust

Well I finally finished the mod, turned out to be pretty easy. Here is what I did:

-Replaced stock GPU heat sink with 2 Gen heat sink

-Replaced stock CPU heat sink with 2 Gen Heat Sink

-Removed DVD drive with a 120mm case fan that takes air into the xbox

Now here is the problem I am having. All of the temps have dropped , however, the CPU temp went up from 45C to about 55C. I am guessing that I have created a dead spot for airflow. What do you think would be a good solution? I was thinking of putting the stock CPU heat sink back on and installing a 50mm fan on the front side of it to push air through the fins of the heat sink.
