ALL drives need a key.

No. It HAS to be the key from YOUR console's motherboard.

You have to cut the traces in order to flash, then re-jion the traces by soldering or using conductive glue.

"Flashing". Not modding, you're flashing these Lite-Ons.

Also, there is no need to cut traces on a 7x or 8x V1 series liteon's. From my understanding, only 8x V2 and 9x drives need a hammer and chisel to get the key out. "Unless" you want a full dump (and not just the key) then yes, all Liteon drives need a hammer and chisel.

To safe as possible, you always need to a full dump on the lite ons.
