lost drive key recovery?

i was wondering if there was anyway you could recover a lost original firmware for a dvd drive. ive been playing around with dvdkey32 to see if it would be able to extract the key. am i wasting my time or is there a way to do this?

if you flashed over the original firmware then its a waste of time.

if you can jtag it you can get the keys using xell.

not sure, i dont do jtag as all my consoles have too recent of a dashboard to jtag.

If you installed XBR3 xell is integrated with it. Just power on the xbox with the eject button and wait for the blue linux screen to come up. You will see a bunch of numbers, the 2nd and 4th strings put together are your cpu key and you can use that to get your dvd key.

i'm all for it xbl games on a handset. i can finally play something else besides solitaire while taking a dump now... AND get achievements at it!!!
