The slims with the MIX chip are easy to flash. You need a 10 ohm resistor, make one trace cut and use the 360usbpro to program. The ones that have a windbond are a pain and require different methods to unlock the SPI.

Actually the slims aren't that bad if you have a lizard. It guides you on the drilling process.

i think thats just a matter of opinion, i have the lizard and the usbpro, the usbpro is a little easier interface in my opinion, but the lizard is a little easier because you have the device right there at the drive, either way the end result is the same, the drive gets flashed if you do it correctly.

Peluynati/Infamous/ModKing/ My previous slim was a 9405 and I flashed it using VIA 6421 chipset and probe 3. Now I unlocked my MX/chip 0225 ver. using the Russian wire method and got status 0x00 and heard the beep in jungle flasher. At the time i didn't know that you need a usb device like lizard or usbpro to read and write the flash chip. I hit the erase key and sure enough It erased the firmware I guess, now my dvd doesn't work. It wont open or close but i can still get into vendor mode and see the flash properties. My question is that when I get a lizard or usbpro and flash the device everything should be operable again correct? Keep in mind I didn't extract the keys before I erased. Thanks

if you did not get the keys before you erased, and you do not have them saved anywhere, then i'm afraid you have a really nice dvd player.

That is what I thought Oooops. It kinda sucks that with a chipset/6421 you can get the device/Slim into vendor mode and REALLY erase the firmware but you cant read or write to it. Should I have been able to at least save the keys? I tried but kept getting errors.

if you had the newer JF you should have been able to read the keys.

Lite Touch ignores waves, so it won't be that. It'll probably be related to the extra security checks that the 360 S does.
