Yeah, I guess that's possible. But other sites are saying that none of the important CRCs match the two versions.

they are looking at the date of auth, wich is 4 days separate from the 2 versions, the only reason it is that way is because they are from different distribution centers so they were not made on the same day, all the other things match exactly including the date of mastering.

Then why do the CRCs not match? Or are they making that up?

Yeah, I suppose that's possible. Still, it is very, very fishy that two rips of the same retail game were mastered 4 days apart. I was under the impression once the game has "gone gold", then that is the final say. Why would EA master two different retail versions of the game?
I'd be very cautious.
C/P from the nfo file of the new version:
Madden.NFL.2010.RF.XBOX360-ARROGANE = stolen from P2P and this has already
been verified as the abgx output is identical of rrt-madden 2010.iso
(newsgroup upload) and agn-mdn10.iso ("scene rls").
To make the situation even more interesting, our retail rip (with proof pics
included in extras folder) has crc differences and timestamp differences (ours
is more recent) that MAY reveal that the P2P source was not a final build or a
build not intended for public distribution. You can be the judge.
P2P rls= Timestamp of Mastering: 2009/07/09 21:06:39
NiG rls= Timestamp of Mastering: 2009/07/13 17:55:49 (more recent)
P2P rls= SS CRC 8CEE6609 (RawSS = C36F7E0B)
NiG rls= SS CRC E50AF40F (RawSS = 747A8FC8)
However, some of the other important data does match up including xex crc and
media id. But since the ARROGANE release was clearly stolen, and there is all
this talk about whether it is a safe copy to be playing on Live, we decided to
proper them and let you feel comfortable with a clean retail rip a week early.
We should mention that the game was ripped 3x with exact crc matches every
time, so rest assured that our rip is as safe and as clean as it gets.

Ya man i was a little freaked out when everyone said that the rrt version of madden was a review copy. But I agree with you that nig is just mad that rrt released it before him. But the thing that gets me is the site bitsoup, took the arrogane version down. And nig is the only one there...Thats why I'm still a little iffy about the whole situation

This exact situation happened during the November ban wave when there was a popular game that got leaked early(GoW2?) and a bunch of people played it, only to find out it was a review copy and get banned.
That's why you should only play pre release games if you truly don't care whether your console gets banned or not.

Bull. The timestamp isn't different just because it was manufactured at a different time, or every timestamp on every DVD would be different. The timestamp comes from when the original DVD was mastered, ie 'gone gold'. EDIT: Okay, this is true for the 'authoring' timestamp I guess, which is different from the 'mastering timestamp' which is true in this case.
The pics you linked to are not of the rrt/Arragone release, by the way. The info from the ABGX screenshot doesn't match.

If you buy GOW2 now it will have a different timestamp than what it did when it came out because it comes from a different plant.

i guess i could have kept my first version of madden on my pc till abgx could verify, but i scrapped it and got the NIG version. maybe they both end up verifying, but i feel safer now after looking at the retail pics in the download of the NIG version. between this and the red faction/ufc scare, im seriously thinkin about dusting off the old kreon and hitting the blockbuster again-if only i wernt so cheap lol

Just wait until the freaking release date! Is that so hard?
Or you could always use the peanut butter trick to play pre-releases....

It will patch normally, but if its a review copy then it won't. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But i got the arrogane version and played it online along with my brothers xbox too, plus i burnt 2 copies for my friend, so i wasted discs, plus have the chance of getting banned next wave if it is a review copy

I'm still getting a Verification Failed with a retail copy of Madden 10 with ABGX. Everything else passed.
Here's what it says exactly:
Looking for 7972876A23C51C8F.ini in the online verified database. There is no verified rip of this Xex/SS combination in the online database.Failed to find a verified ini file for this Xex/SS combination.
Does this mean we can't play the copy on Live yet?

that just means that the info in the database came from a different pressing of the game than yours. if your rip is retail, youre fine.

Sorry for double post didnt mean site meant database. And it verifys after set to lvl 3, but I already burnt 4 copies of the game before the release date, and after i set to lvl 3 it says stealch patched succesfully, but before it already said stealth check passed. So do i need to reburn the game? Or can i just use the old one that said stealth passed, but verification failed?
