I just bought some (slightly damaged) games from gamestop, and I want to make backup copies for when these inevitably fail. My 360 is flashed with LT+3.0, but not JTAG/RGH, and I have whatever drive that came factory standard with my laptop, so I know it's not an IHAS or anything special like that. My question is if there's any way to rip or extract the iso with the basic unmodded hardware?
you need a removed xbox dvd drive flashed with the correct firmware (drives are called 0800 drives usually liteons),you will also require the usb adapter to connect the 0800 drive to the pc,then run xbox backup creator or use the sata adapter
youtube should be able to give you an idea of whats required,the mod place i visit doesn't have any of the adapters on show with pictures on its website,it used too
you can avoid the above by rgh'ing your 360 this will render discs obsolete,chances are it will save money in the long run all you'll need is an external drive perhaps two,one for ISO's the other for extracted games for direct connection to 360
If your pc is dual core or quad with 4gb ram-8gb & has say a graphic card of 512mb-1gb & is an ati from say 6000 range or upwards,you can get a usb wireless receiver unit (they're not expensive)& use the 360 controller on the pc,the graphics are far better & games much cheaper (they seem to drop in price faster than console games)well just a thought,a gaming pc can be got cheap it doesn't need to be 1000's of dollars worth you can even get 2nd hand form factor pc's that are grunty as,tho minitower would most probably be better for its extra slots..it's always about money however food for thought anyway
Oh, I actually have a quad core pc with 8 gigs of ram and a 2 gig graphic card; computer gaming is fun, I just have some games I want that are console only
