My neighbor wants to upgrade his sons 360 hdd from a 20gb to 120gb( he saw my 360 with the official 120gb from MS). But he doesn't want to pay allot like I did for the official one. I have read on line that you can create your own 120gb 360 hdd (using a certain type of hdd). Can doing this get you banned from xbox live? I know that MS looks for modded firmware on the dvd drive, but how about the hdd?

You will need HDDHackr. There are several tutorials out there.

There are several users here who have done it and no problems with Microsoft. But that doesn't mean it is or isn't notice by Microsoft.
