what a dumbo I am... I plugged the power upside-down for the BenQ drive... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I smell something funky from back of the drive and I didnt even want to open the drive.

Well, can I still send this over to MS to get this to be fixed?

1. BenQ wasnt opend ( seal is stil there)

2. the warranty seal still look legit (I can put it back together where the 2 outside covers cleses)

3. I installed Xecuter blaster NE but I can un-install it easily

since the drive is FRIED, I think MS technitians can NOT really tell that the drive was attempted to be flashed.

I was gonna tell them my house got struck by lightning and smell something burned a little ever since that happened LOL

another way..

I looked through eBay and saw Brand New BenQ drive for 360.

I was told that the the brand new replacement drive has to get the original keys from the old drive (which is FRIED now..)

is it even possible?

the new drive dont just work right way??

please help... thank you

If you plug the drive back up to the console and it doesn't respond, it is more than likely fried.

If you dumped the DVDkey, you are fine. You can spoof the info to another drive.

But if you didn't get the DVDkey, you will be looking at getting a new XBOX 360.

if u send it in u might get screwed cause since u fried the dvd drive you wont get the 3 rings of death on power up u will get an error code 75 or someshit this will tell MS that you indeed messed with the drive plus they only extend thier warranty for 3 rings or death hopefully you have the original files if u do buy the new drive and reflash my friend ive fried one myself and know how u feel

Maybe trying to induce RROD on a console could be achieved.

update

I called the MS and told them that the drive is not opening after the black out.

I can still see the dashboard but its says 'open tray'

when I push eject button, it turns into 'close tray'

no error screen at all.

i explained them and I still have the 1 year warranty WooT!!!

Im gonna send that in tommorow

with the status of my 360 now, Im pretty sure it is impossible to tell that I was trying to flash the drive

wish me luck
