So, I made backup copies of my ME2 discs with wxripper months ago. Now that I've lost disc 2 of the original (xD), I thought I'd use my backup copies. Now, I'm aware I'm using out-dated firmware, but I don't play online so using the Activation disc has always worked. But every time I go to put in the second disc, it tells me it (the backup copy) is not the correct disc. What should I do to fix this? I had the same problem with my burned (albeit pirated) 2-disc copy of Forza Motorsport 3.

Hiya! ^o^
You've got 2 choices, you can either update your drive firmware or rip the backup disk you have and use a wave patcher to effectively downgrade the wave to be compatible with your firmware. You can find the download link and tutorial here
Hope this helps! ^o^
EDIT - BTW, I haven't used wave patching myself, but I knew loads of people who used to. not sure if that method still works though... >.<

Thanks, though!!!!!
The tutorial I linked you to in previous response shows you how to downgrade the wave on the disk... o.0
ugh, i can't get it to install! it's a little confusing, what to unzip and what to run but it goes halfway before telling me that there's a problem finding i think "installer.zip" somewhere in my temp files. wtf... :o(
