Hi all

I have someone who want's me to look at their xbox as they bought it off fleabay and it won't play games - only dvd's and cd's. i've explained to him the options and his only real concern is the functionality of media centre if the corrupted firmware on it has already flagged a ban next time he hooks up to live. if he can still use media centre to stream movies and music from his pc to 360 then i think he will be happy whether he is banned or not.

i've never had to connect a banned xbox to media centre before so i cannot answer about the loss of function if any.

yes you can, but you have to use Tversity not the built in media center if it gets banned.

thats good news, i just hope it was a bad flash and i can repair it for them :) it's a 2006 unit so one of the old skool drives.

Game over, my Xbox is banned and WMC is fine but TVversity doesn't work?!

Plus I don't think my HDD is corrupt either

Go into the transcoder and set it to "always" decode.
