Is there any talk of a mod disc being made for lite touch? I found that to be the easiest way to flash my 360 drives , but havent seen one since 1.6fw.

If you mean a mod disc in that the disc loads up like a boot disc and the flashing program runs from there, you can make one yourself from iPrep, I believe.
$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

that is what I mean but Ive never had luck making boot devices myself so I was hoping the same guy would make a lite touch mod disc.

no , you still have to connect the drive to your computer, its just it boots up in dos and tells you step by step what to do, 10mins later your drive is hacked. simple

wish we had slayers and stuff like back in the XBOX 1 days, maybe there is potential to flash the DVD drive FW with a Jtagged xbox.

I wasn't into the Xbox 1 scene (PC was still king at that point, baby!), so I don't know what a slayer is. However, I do imagine that you are right about being able to use a JTAG'ed 360 to flash a DVD drive. I bet we would have seen this already if anybody with a JTAG cared about what firmware is on their DVD drive :)
I can see this being very useful as a very mobile DVD drive flashing solution, actually. It could be very useful.
