some minor alterations can be done via modding files on the hdd, but for the most part you need a dev kit and $$$

I was kinda wondering the same thing. What about altering .bik video files in games? Like replacing them into the .iso. Does anyone know of how to do this without messing up the media ID from .xex? I have tried so many things but to no avail. I tried this on COD4 using RAD video tools (which is great btw!)and wx360. Is there some way to patch the default.xex file?

I think I found what I need. The program is called ABGx360. I don't know how I have missed it this long. I have the old xtreme firmware so whenever I saw this program I assumed it was only for wave3 games...maybe it is but I sure hope it will do what I want. I can't wait to get home and test it out!

ABGX360 only checks your ISO to make sure it is properly stealthed and patches if needed.

Yea...after I downloaded it and everything I saw that. So I ask again...does anyone know of a way to change the media on a disc and have it pass stealth check? For instance the default video that plays in COD 4? i don't understand why you can replace files in an iso cuz mine never pass stealth check after I do this. Is it just to inject ss sectors and such? Why have the option if it doesn't do anything? Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't ignore it. There is a difference between trying to modify actual game content like cars and such and altering a simple video file that has no variables linked to the game play. I must admit that I am finding it impossible to do what I want. There are still several things to consider even in just changing a video in an iso. That doesn't mean I should stop trying things. I have found out a lot by searching through these forums. Sure I haven't found what I am looking for but now I can do other things. I guess I did ignore you then...because your answer to alnisse_7's question does not apply to mine. I have modded Halo 3 and L4D. I know that modifying user settings stored on the hdd or mu is so far the only way to mod game settings. So please...if you think of something clever that no one has thought of doing in the forums before, let me know.

Let me ask you guys this. When ABGX360 checks the iso does it check the size of the iso to see if it matches or does it do the random padding to make it a certain size. If the size did not matter then to you could add or change content.
If it did check the size of the game off of the database then it would be impossible. I know that you could do it on the original xbox but so I don't see why this wouldn't be similar.
Let me know what you all think.

MS is going to know if you mess with the image.
people don't get caught with having a hacked firmware, but with bad rips, messed up images.

As far as I am aware, to change the models in GTA IV you need a couple of specialist programs and even then, when you edit a file the resulting file must be EXACTLY the same size. So therefore, if you were to change a model it would need to be exactly the same size. Try going to se7ensins, they have tutorials and guides on it.
Personally, I wouldn't play a modded GTA IV on an Xbox I use for live, because surely the game CRC would be different in the resulting modded game and wouldn't pass ABGX anyway. I'm not a buff on Xbox game ripping but if anyone knows, could they confirm this?

Try searching, its fun.

Dev kits only cost about $150 don't they? I might get one (if they're a reasonable price) and see what I can make.
