Since my original message,

I have tried burning the game on to Verbatim 2.4x DL DVD's made in Singapore.
I also tried, prior to the verb disc,s a pot tweaking (turned down to 3.09)

Also, to confirm, this is Just Cause 2, which just came out.
I'm under the impression it is a wave 6 game.
I have a hitachi with 1.5 iXtreme.

Others have successfully burned and ran this iso file.

Quote:
Alright, before I get blown off for asking the same dumb question over and over, let me explain.

I have read through the stickies here, and followed all the tutorials.

I acquired an ISO of Just Cause 2 along with a .dvd
I then ran the ISO through AGBX (as per the tutorial in stick) with no errors.
I burned the game on a Memorex DL disc, I know it isn't the best option, but I had a few.
When I put the game in, it tries to read for like 30 seconds, then just say Open Tray.

I flashed my drive using JungleFlasher with the latest firmware from xBins.
I have a hitachi rev 59 (i believe).

What did I do wrong?

(P.S.
I actually burned 3 copies.
1st - Just the ISO with the default imgBurn settings
2nd - I set the layer split in the imgBurn settings
3rd - I ran the ISO through AGBX and then burned with imgBurn)

I know that my games don't always read the first time when i put the right in but here is something to try. Put the game in and eject it using the controller and then after the try is all the way out put it back using the controller.

If that does not work.

1. run the ISO through ABGX (post the whole output the program gives you.)

2. delete the .DVD file from the folder leaving only the .ISO

3. Take the .ISO into IMGBurn and set the LAYERBREAK (1913760) your self (Settings>Write)

4. Burn at 2.4x or 4x both seem to work fine.
(NOTE: if you experience lag in the game then installing to HDD should fix this as it seems some games may have been burned faster than others but 4x seems as though it is flawless.)

Providing you have followed the tutorials in the sticky correctly, Its either the crappy memorex (try verbatims) or you need to do the POT Calibration on your drive (google for instructions)

Ok did you try following the exact instructions i set? if that does not work try another burner. As mike said though POT tweak could be your issue but also you could try Verbs although your memorex will work just will not last as long.

I have had hitachis that will not read crap media at all, as mentioned try verbs. Also post your imgburn log so we can check that out.

Did not think of the IMGBurn Log but as long as no errors occured there should be no problems. I would try a single or 3 pack of verbs before i went right for the whole spindle. Again it is also a suggestion to try another burner too. i have a DL burner on my Desktop as well as Laptop and the Desktop will not burn 360 games but does anything else i like. Could be an issue with the layerbreak come to think of it. But my Laptop does however burn them perfectly

Where can I find a 1 or 3 pack of verb?
Smallest I can find are 10.

IMGburn log will actually tell you the laybreak so we can rule that out. Best bet IMHO its the POT calibration though, ive had to do it on a few shitachis

Well I got the hitachi folder off of xBins, put it in JungleFlasher's firmware folder, and hit flash basically.
Anyway to know which version I have flashed on it?

Haha,
Alright, Ill give that a shot tomorrow.
It does make sense because the drive was having a bit of an issue reading actual game discs.

Well, I just finished a pot calibration.
I dropped it down to 3.09, which I feel should do it if that's the problem.
Any other ideas?

New/Replacement drive is your next option.

Try playing the disks in someone elses console, see if they have the same problem.
