I have installed the 360 controller software to use my controller on pc via usb but still it doesn't work. My computer says unable to install device or something. The computer doesn't recognize my controller. The controller itself is wireless but i bought a rechargeable battery pack and so i'm using the usb wire thats ment to charge your battery pack with my pc. Does my controller not work on pc because its wireless?

I believe you need to either have a wired controller when connecting to your PC, or the wireless adapter for the 360 that will link your 360 controller to you PC. I don't think you can use the play and charge cable for PC use unless somebody knows something else...

you cannot use the charging cable to connect the controll to PC the charger cable only chrges the battery. if you want to use the wireless controller then you will need a xbox 360 wireless controller reciever Like this one and xpadder to use it. If you want to use a wired controller then you can connect the USB to PC and use xpader to programm the controller.

There was a bundle for a wireless controller and wireless gaming reciever for $70 (aud, about $50 usd), I don't know if it is still going but $50 just for the reciever is a rip off.
