Hi all, im a noob to flashing a 360, but im not technologically stupid. This is my first attempt at flashing my 360. I have a hitachi 79 drive.
My problem is i cant dump my firmware onto my computer.
Ive looked at different tutorials and seen different videos and none help me. the drive is being powered by the xbox and its connected to my laptop using a usb to sata adapter.
Ive used Jungle Flasher 0.1.65 and 360 Firmware Toolbox 4.6.
Ive accomplised to install the JungleUSB drivers, and I get the Drive to enter Mode B using the USmodeB function on JungleFlasher, since its a 79 i have the 79unlock disc, so once in mode B i click 79 unlock button and the log shows that the drive is succefully unlocked and ejects the disc and the log says Done!
from here ive done two different things
1. I go ahead and click Read to Source on JungleFlasher(with the correct drive selected, WinAP selected, Drive Revision 78/79, Transfer Method - Ram Upload, Flashing Options - Dump Drive) JF then says on the log Dumping F/W of Hitachi...... then it says Ram Upload Dump Failed.
From there i cant dump.
2. Ive also gone ahead and put the drive in mode B and unlocked with the 79 unlock button in JF, and once there I open 360 Firmware Toolbox, click Tools>Direct Drive Dump>(I insert a Real 360 Game)Click RAW Dump...then sometime i get the save as prompt, I name it and click save, then the program just freezes and nothing is saved, sometimes the program freezes without prompting me to save. sometimes a pop up comes up and tells me it cannot read from source.
you CAN use a usb adapter for this. I have done this exact drive using a slax disk to send modeB from desktop. I have not however, had any luck sending modeB from a laptop. if you are in modeB, make sure you have the correct drive selected and then follow the instructions included with JF. you should see the drive properties before you flash.
