I got rrod on my xbox yesterday so I want to put orig.bin back on my drive, return xbox 360 to the store where I have a 2 year fix or replace insurance and hopefully get a new console. Problem is I lost my orig.bin file w/ drive key on it. I need help or a good tut on how to extract my key from bad drive w/ modded fw and include it with another orig.bin I have from another 360. Any and all help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Just return the console. Unless it is Microsoft, they aren't going to check to see if you have modified firmware (even Microsoft usually doesn't even check).

really? cause I've heard that it can go either way, you're probly right but I'd still like to know how to do it just to be safe and also I'm a believer in knowlege is power.

They aren't going to disassemble you 360 and check for anything. They are going to honor the warranty and replace the console for you right there on the spot. You will have a new DVDkey to dump at that point because each 360 DVDkey is unique.

do you have experience w/ this? the store is Be$t Buy and they say if it cannot be repaired they will replace.

They aren't going to make you wait weeks to try and repair your XBOX 360. They are going to get you a new 360 and send your RRoD 360 to a Microsoft warehouse to get credit for the console.
