I have all the things I need to obtain this drive key and using a blaster ck3 I have the xbox connected to my pc through the usb port on the blaster and jungleflasher is recognizing this as a COM port. However, when i go down through all the I/O tabs on the pull down, my lite-on drive is not there. How do I get this to show up there? I have an NForce Serial ATA Controller which is connected to the blaster with a SATA Cable as well.

If you use the 707 method, remember this:

1.) You're laser will need replaced all the time
2.) Not safe for xbox live (dummy.bin method)

All lite-on's require a full dump to be safe on live and to keep the laser cals.

You also should stop wasting your time if you don't have a 6421 via sata card. $10 on newegg

Okay so somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong here. Finally went out and got my via 6421a and i hooked my via card into my pci port and connected it to my pc's sata port with a sata cable. next, i connected my 360 drive to the via card with a sata cable. i powered on the drive and then started up my computer and went into the bios. nothing showed up... checked my device manager and it is recognized as a via 6421a raid controller. anybody know what i'm doing wrong?

The bios won't see it. Download Jungle Flasher and follow the guide. You also need to rename the viamraid.sys file in c:\windows\system32 to viamraid.sys.old or jungle flasher will freeze. Make sure you diable the driver in device manager first.

Okay so I disabled the driver in device manager and then went in and renamed viamraid.sys to viamraid.sys.old. Powered on my 360 drive and then started up jungleflasher. When I did, it gave me the startup message that "no comports were found during enumeration". Did I do something wrong?

JF 1.7.3 ?

Make sure you select po IO and do you see the drive under the mtk tab? You did re-enable after the rename?

Thanks so much for your help man. Slowly I think I'm getting there... haha. So I got it to show up in jungleflasher and I found the i/o and my drive showed up under the mtk tab. i'm using the probe that came with my blaster ck3 and i have this connected from my blaster to the usb port. i installed the drivers and this shows up in jungleflasher under com5. I insert the probe into the r707 and it lights up green. Everything sounds good right? Until I press dvdkey32 that is... It says that it is going extract the dvdkey from that location and the dots start going out until the following message comes up "Bad serial data. Extraction aborted." I've been following the guide religiously up to this point and I went back through all the steps but I can't seem to figure out where I went wrong here. Oh, and yes I did power-cycle my drive and leave it with the tray half-open before I attempted to extract the key.

You're not listening. That method is incorrect and will destroy the laser in a short period of time. DO not use the 707 method unless you want to constanly replace your laser and get banned from xbox live.

Well seeing as I don't know how to solder and do the full dump, the r707 method is what I'm sticking to for now. I've done a lot of research on this and it seems to be a proven method that many people have experienced success with. Plus, I have already purchased all the materials needed for the r707 method so it would be a waste not to use them. Any help on my previous issue would be greatly appreciated.

As stated above by ME, you should so the full dump method which requires soldering and cutting the traces. If you don't your drives laser will die in no time and if you play on xbox live you have a much HIGHER success rate in getting banned. If you don't mind getting banned and replacing the laser all the time then 707 is fine.

@noobflash - make sure the usb or serial cable is connected and com port is selected.

yeah, the laser will fail much faster. The 707 is a parital dump and does grab the laser calibration.

@modking30:

i have a liteon and u told me some time ago that i am doomed to get banned cuz my xbox is modded.i go on XBL only with non-copied games. though you said it doesnt matter. its the fact that i have a modded 360. i must've modded likein dec. i only play copied games offline. and havent gotten banned. goin on 6 months. AND i havent had to replace my laser either. i think if u only play copied games offline, u dont have to worry about getting banned....so far, its worked for me....

btw, i have jungle flasher 1.6 and a lite-on 74850c i was wondering, if my games are 100% stealth checked, i should be able to go on XBL with those right???

You will eventually. 6 months is normal. It's when M$ releases updates to check for modded consoles. When you post you've been on live for 3 years, then you're doing something right. My console was online about 1 year when I got my first ban. My other boxes did not. It's random.
