Need help playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Backup

Ok here is the situation. It's been a while since I've had my firmware updated. Newer games are working on my system such as Call of Duty Black Ops. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood required the use of the activation disc, however I can't get past the update. It restarts my xbox and then it can't read the update of the disc so it won't let me do the update. Is the only way to fix it to update my firmware? If so, what is the latest version? Thanks!

new firmware is coming for new games like acb. said to be here before xmas thats all we know

Its not firmware.
The update of the console fails then the console is locked saying cannot update. The reason it can't update is after using activate ISO to boot AC2, AC2 updates and then reboots. The activate iso then will not load to re boot AC2 to finish the update.
The only way to fix this (that I know off) is to boot with a retail AC2.
Anyone else know a fix? otherwise the console is stuck on the update screen no matter what you do

ya i think he is right, go rent a copy or borrow from a friend to boot it once and then it should work. i forgot to factor in the old fw and the activate disc

If I did the same and used a retail copy of AC2 to 'finish' the update process will my other backups (changed to wave 3) still work?? I believe my 360 has 1.51 FW and a LiteOn drive. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Just so you know. I had to update my firmware so I was able to get out of the broken update error. AC2 backup then finished the update with the new dash :)
All my older backups still work as well.
Happy now I got rid of that stupid Activate.iso with game updates locking the system...

Very sorry I did mean ACB. The original copy will get past your broken update, I decided to upgrade the f/w to fix mine. Yes you can install the retail to HDD and then play with your backup in the drive.

Bump. I still can't get it to work. I got past the broken update with the original disc, but now the backup is unreadable. I tried 2 different versions already. HELP!
