Need Help With New Disc Drive

Ok i had a Benq disc drive that quit reading disc and it wasnt modded or nothing like that. so i bought a new Benq off ebay and replaced it with the old one. I swaped the cards in them and resoldered all the wires back in the right place and it still want read. what do i do now????

Might be that the actually PCB is broke. Swap them back, try reading the firmware form your old drive and writing it your new drive.

You probably bought one from hong kong? They always come in and need a POT cal. Basically you get what you pay for.

omg. You need a 6421 via card and jungle flasher. Then you take that firmware and spoof it to the new drive. Swapping boards should have worked if you soldered properly. With the drive taken apart, and connected to the 360. Move the laser back with your finger. Turn on the 360. Does the laser move forward and flash red? If so, means the laser is good, might just need adjustment.

ok i have checked the laser on it and it lights up red and moves back and forward when started. now what?

Test with a multimeter and try adjusting the POT

You check the POT. There is a guide on here on how to do so. Either that, or buy a new laser.
