Need help! Xbox360 dont know if modded :( Help!

Basically i knew this guy that told me that he can make my Xbox 360 play copied games and i gave it him and i got it back today and i turned it on and Everything is the same! I do not have any copied games at the moment and i dont know if it had been hard modded or soft modded. The Xbox has been opened before because of RROD and the standard MS xmb is still on. Is there anyway to get onto a mod menu or anything like the recovery menu on a psp. i am knew to the whole Xbox mod scene. Please help i am a noob :P

Modding your Xbox 360 does not leave any cosmetic changes, unlike the psp, because when you mod and Xbox it changes the DVD drive firmware so that the drive allows backups to be read, but it doesn't allow the Xbox to run unsigned code. The only two ways to check to my knowledge is to try and run a backup or to hook up your drive to your computer. You will also know if your console was modded if you end up getting banned ;)!

Ok thank you, But when i turn my Xbox on because i have to after the dvd drive sound it then makes a deep whirring sound for bout 3 seconds and the one i havnt had sent away doesnt make this sound. i have opened the dvd drive and looked at the circuit board and there is a black ssqaure with An M on with like a ring around the m and there is alot of clear glue and the glue is touching 2 other black sqaures (i dont know what they are called) but they are smaller :( (in the dvd drive)

I don't know much so I can't say for sure. But the best way to know is just to open your computer and just connecting the drive up and seeing what FW it has. I don't know much about modchips so I can't say whether that chip is a stock part or not. Also, in the future you are better doing these things yourself so you know exactly what is happening to your Xbox.

OK thanks, i have ordered some backup games off the guy so if they play then im happy :) BTW i have recently heard about MS banhammer, if the games are stealthed will i be able to play on live or can they now detect stealthed games (the reason people have been getting banned)
