can i plug the old summy, update, and re-flash the hitachi with the summy key and LT1.9?
will it work or will it fail?

By "summy", I'll take it as you mean a samsung. If you connect to live with that 360, you'll end up with an E66 error. You need to buy a replacement samsung drive. I believe that live uses your serial number, or MAC address to determine the drive that was originally in your 360 (Samsung, in your case). When you get on live to update, there is a new firmware that is flashed to your 360's drive so it can read the new XGD3 file structure. I think that MS flashes Samsung firmware (in your case, even though you replaced it with a hitachi) to whatever drive is in the 360 (explains the E66 error).

The best thing you could do would be to grab a samsung drive from ebay, and flash your dvdkey to the new samsung drive with stock firmware. Then, get on live and update your console. It takes about 10 minutes or so with a 10Mb connection for the entire update process. When it's finished, you'll notice that your old backups don't work anymore. Now is the time to use the LT1.9 patch for the samsung drive. Cheers!

Do exactly what he said just make sure that you get same model i.e. if you have ms25 get ms25 not ms28.

You make no sense. They will both work. Spoofing how ever does not work on the new dash, so you will need to go back to your hitachi or get a new one. Spoofing will only boot orig games not backups on the new dash.

Now on a side note samsungs and hitachi do not support AP2.5 so you may be able to spoof to the samsung and reflash, but keep in mind it is not live safe.

I made perfect sense you edited by ddp! I was just making sure that he didn't have any future problems regarding original drive sig and new dash, if both are interchangeable and can be spoofed then oh well I'm still right. All you do is go behind people on these forums and either pretty much copy and paste answer to question someone else has already given or give some dumbass advice that is wrong, just like this one where you don't even know what kind of drive he originally had and which one is spoofed telling him " so you may be able to spoof to the samsung and reflash, but keep in mind it is not live safe" when a samsung is his original drive. And a spoofed hitachi will boot backups on new dash you just can't go on live. So since I pretty much made perfect sense here that you are a dumbass and dont know shit how about keeping your mouth shut!

I copy and paste? LOL... Spoofing will = Ban not live safe. All stated by C4eva and in cases will give you E66. Keep giving bad advice to these guys. Even if I am wrong is there a reason I deserved being cussed out?

first of all, thanks alot for replying.
now ,since i'm an israely, buying from ebay and ship to israel will cost me alot more then you think...(roughly about a second hand xbox)
second, if ill do the update via a disconkey or simply an update disc, with the first samsung drive attached, then replace back to a hitachi with LT 1.9 with the samsung key, and run the xbox unconnected to the live it should work as long as i stay unconnected. right?
and if i do conncet to xbox live i'm risking in getting banned...

I don't think there is a Lt 1.9 for hitachi, is there?

It seems to me your choices are flash a samsung with your samsung key for online or use the hitachi and don't connect.
