Hello everyone. I have bee reading about flashing the new Lite-on and saw that jungle flasher has released a beta that supports the new drive recently. I have an xbox360 that has issues with its HDMI port. I thought that I would get a new one and flash it. I have flashed before but ran into trouble this time. I followed the guide that team JF had posted on their website but i think i have a new paper weight. I got the key (the program decrypted it automatically) and loaded the 1.6 FW for the new drive i got from xbins. and when i went to erase the drive and follow the steps for the old lite-on I ended up getting an error code that the intro failed. so i tried a few more times and nothing changed. then i decided to unplug plug in the drive even tho it didnt say to. thats when it gave me a status 72 but no flash size info. thats when i think i bricked the drive.

should i have kept trying to erase the drive when the tray was all the way out like it asked for the second time it read the drive key in the tut?

thanks all

Your drive is not bricked. You just need to get the drive in vendor mode so you can write the firmware. Connect your drive back up the same SATA port you were using. Re-send the Lite-ON erase and power cycle when prompted. If you are using the XBOX 360 to power the drive, unplug the DVD power cable and plug it back in within 1 second.

ok I was able to write to the drive with the firmware I made with the keys. however i think i may have retrieved bad keys. I started this a week ago when JF didn't have support for the drive yet and i used LO83 and FreeKey the first time to flash it without luck.

But my issue i asked about was resolved but im not out of the woods yet. I usually skip the outro?ata serial reset step because it never finishes in JF and i thought it was just for power cycling the drive. its either this reason (skipping of the step) or a bad dump of the key because now its not reading ANY games backups or Original 360 discs.

Any reason why the outro/ata serial would cause this? or did i get the wrong keys.

I remeber reading somewhere that the Key was supposed to start with "In Loving Memory Of" and mine starts with "In Dedication To The Birth Of Mckay". does this mean i dont have the correct key for some reason?

5AA5AA5AA5AA5AA is the default key that was put in by the iXtreme firmware makers. Go ahead and use OpenKey v.2 on your .bin that you got from LO83.
