New burned games gives "PLAY DVD"

i bought an xbox360. its "modded" or whatever and plays burned games like soul calibur 4
and others that are old.. but when i burned skate 3 xbox just gives "play dvd"... and when i "play it" it goes to white backgrounded xbox logo screen..

have searched.. and googled..and again searched but found nothing helpful. also tried some "one shot boot" disc it also didn't work...

so do i need to update the firmware or what..?? and i don't know if my pc is capable of that.. it has an sata something but still.

yep i got the same error,

updated my firmware and i was good to go!
