Shows up in bios (even as a boot option although i havnt actually tried booting from it) but jungleflasher reports nothing in any of my ports, just the main os drive. I've even used this machine to do my hitachi earlier and it worked fine, so maybe this is another mode-b kinda setup on this drive.

yep, and I bet we may not see FW for drives IF the x360key thing kicks off which it probably will. I don't want to use discs anyway. Same thing happened a year or so ago on the wii.
