New XBox360 backups won't read

I checked if the isos were good using OSx360. They failed the stealth check and failed the PFI sector check. I went online to look up the PFI sector stuff and it said that newer games have a different PFI sector map so that is normal for them to fail. I burned the games like I usually do using iBurn360. After they burn, the DVD player on my computer pops up and it says that this is not a DVD, this is an Xbox360 game. Like it normally does, which should mean it works. When I put it in the console, it thinks its a regular DVD and not a game. Do I need to do a firmware update or something? If it makes any difference, I'm using a Mac.

More than likely you are trying to scan a newer wave game on OSx360 and it doesn't recognize it. Also with your 360, more than likely your firmware needs updated.
What firmware do you have on your 360 drive and what game are you trying to play?

I'm tryiing to play Left4Dead 2, Assassin's Creed 2, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. I got my xbox360 around 5 months ago. I haven't connected it to the internet or anything. I'm not sure what firmware I have. How do I check which firmware I have and how do I update it? I know the games are real since my computer DVD player pulls it up as an Xbox 360 game.

Also, do I need to connect to xbox live to update the firmware? The second I tried to connect to xbox live, it banned me.

you dont update FW via live. why in the hell would microsoft update your hacked FW???? you update it yourself.

I have some more information. I have a BenQ drive. I guess I need an activation disc. I found information about it for the lite on drive, but which activation disc iso do i need for the benq?

There's only one activation disk. You burn it to a Dual-Layered disc just like a 360 game and answer yes to everything imgburn asks. You then disable the autoboot in the dashboard. Then insert the activation disk. It'll say reading, then "play dvd". At this point, eject your disk and put in your backup. It should then boot and play. Do not launch the "play dvd". It won't work.

Sounds good. One last quick question. I'm on a Mac, so I can't do Imgburn. I use Osx360 and iburn360. Is there a way to burn it on a single layer with that stuff?

Mine worked on the 360, when it launcehed the activation disc it brought up the insert a 360 disc in all the languages, i inserted mw2 and it launched fine, funny how these things happen in it?
