Okay, so I have about 45 legit games, have an established Gamertag and had Xbox Live until about 6 months ago when I canceled it because I no longer had time to play.
About 3 months ago, one of my friends convinced me to have my drive's firmware flashed so I could play backups, so I did.
I played a couple of backups, Shift, Batman, Forza, but only a few days before release and my friend burned all the discs through the checking software (agbx?) and he said the ISO's checked out fine before he burned them.
So, he is, as of about a month ago, banned from Xbox Live. He was playing Forza 3 online and almost every other backup game he had online. He has had Xbox Live during this entire unmodded > modded period of time.
Now, my question is: Is there anything I can do at this moment to make sure that when I go online I will not be banned? Can I format the hard-drive? Reset the system? Or is the ban related to the firmware of the dvd drive? If so, can the firmware be first reset?
Basically, I do not have an xbox live account and want to know if I can do anything right now to make sure I don't get banned when I sign up for a new Live account in the next few days? I am willing to sacrifice all my data on the HDD, because I have a lot of legit games and can't afford to not be able to play some of them online. And I don't want to have to buy another Xbox360.
My point is Xbox Live is online, I didn't play anything online nor have I had an Xbox Live account in 6 months (which was previous to me modding it).
I haven't even had an ethernet cable plugged into my system since I cancelled Live 6 months ago.
So if the system is "flagged" how would that have happened and is there a way to wipe all the info from the system and pray that it doesn't get banned?
PS - Yes, I knew the risks when I had my system modded. I'm just trying to see if there is anything I can do given my specific situation.
you could try reverting back to the firmware, clearing your hdd and cache and then hope and see if you get caught, tbh id sell the games i dont play to put towards a new 360 and keep the legit games that you play online, surely outta 45 your only gonna play a few online and can sacrifice some of em.
