noisy cd drive when loading - first game ever burned

hi guys thanks for the fantastic tutorials on the stickys (the stealth for noobs & burning for noobs) GREAT TUTORIAL!!!!
but the reason why im making this thread it because when loading.. at times the drive makes load noises and doesnt sound to healthy on the cd?
ive just took the disc out to check if there any marks on it due to the noises, there are no marks whatsoever..
when i put it back into the drive the drive loaded the game up but with a noisy racket coming from it, n then quiets down untill the games loading up a new map?
any suggestions as to whats up? never noticed this before but i dont really play on it, but now ill be playing it as i know how to do "backed up" games.. cheers, mike.

sorry guys but im ading to this as ive just noticed something else..
ive just reloaded the game, and found its loading up pretty crappy and choppy at the intro.. i loaded the game played it for abit and then the game FROZEN completely...
is this due to the disc i used?
abgx360 successfully was all green.. and did al that right.
the game burned first time round, no problems.
now the second time i tried to play the game. its frozen.. but then loaded up again after about 30 seconds?
any ideas whats wrong?

how old is the xbox/dvd drive inside it? What type of media are you using?

the xbox worked fine with others games when i took it out and tried another game in it.
i even tried a copied game that i purchased off a friend, that worked fine too.
i tried the game i burned again, which it made the funny noises again, but it then made a loud CLUNK.
i tried to eject and the disc wasnt in the tray properly, and i had to pull it out manually as the drive was only half open with a jammed CD.
now the disc is completely ruined, marked all round and tried to load it a few times and had no chance of it loading at all...
does anyone know why this is?
the first time i tried it, it was noisy, but worked..
the second time it froze once...
the third time it clunked and wouldnt work cause it scratched the disc quite badly..
i tried original games & a copied game since (a different one that i purchased) and it worked fine! no noises, just loaded up perfect.
then i tried the game i burned and it made noises again so i took it out.
anyone know what this is?
is it the disc i used?
could it be the burner i used or is it fine because the game worked?
i did use the guides on here which worked 100%, stealthed, patched & fixed and w.e it all is, burned at 2.4x speed & did it to the book basicly..
the discs are:
RIVISION
DVD+R DL
2.4x 8.5GB 240mins
i purchased 5 from ebay for £3.99 delivered (to check if they would work)
im assuming they dont work? or maybe i did a dodgey burn?
im totally clueless now tbh, im hoping you guys can let me know whats gone wrong with experience??

well it sounds like u might have damaged ur drive its possible but the biggest point id like to make is use VERBATIM

the drive works fine now though, running games perfectly, no noises, no errors etc. first time everytime..
it was just that one disc that i burned off.
i had to manually get it out, but now it opens & shuts without any problems at all.
my first thought was the discs..
not sure if you guys think that..
how much are the verbatims?
can someone put me onto the cheapest source?

bump - but with more feedback!
I re-burned the game on the same crappy discs.
It did the exact same, worked once, then chucked the disc out of the drive making alot of nasty noises.
It's definately the disc's. 100000%.
Can someone put me onto discs that will 100000% work? (anything cheaper than verbatim)
I've read people using different discs with the same quality as the verb's, but i don't know who to trust...
Anyone had any experiences with discs other than the verbs?

no one will recommend anything besides verbs because then you will have other issues.
Just buy the verbs.

You can get a 50 pack at Sam's Club for $60 I believe. But seriously, you're paying $1.30 a game instead of $60. Just buy Verbatims.
