Hey all,


I have a quick question about flashing an Xbox 360 Elite.I got one for Christmas and i went to a guy today about getting it flashed.He told me the newer versions can't be flashed at all.The date on my console is Sept 2009.So my question is do you reckon there's gonna be a breakthrough in flashing the new consoles anytime soon or would i be better off buying a cheap second-hand xbox 360 arcade and getting that flashed I wouldn't mind waiting a few months but the guy who was doing it said it will never be done.

All consoles can be flashed, it's just that the newer ones need soldering.

all versions are currently flashable as far as I know. The newer ones require soldering though. If you dont mind getting another system, sure...find an old one on craigslist and maybe you'll get luck enough to be able to jtag it and then you can run games from an external usb HD. Then you can use your liteon one for play retail games on live

Thanks guys for the quick response much appreciated ye are after putting my mind at rest.It's a relief that it can be flashed some way (after splashing out for it)I'll just look for someone who can solder it for me.I'm not one for playing games online so it would be pretty needless to have 2 consoles for me personally thanks anyway for the suggestion :).

There are only 3 solder points you will need to solder & 2 trace cuts and you will be able to mod the new drive. It is quite simple and its explained in page 102 - 104 of the Jungle Flasher guide.
