right first off, i hope i dont sound like a noob here lol!
was d/loadin 360 games, burning and playing no problems untill this wave 3 thing came out... kinda stopped getting games then... but i want to start again, just dont know what im doing now! so i got a few questions if anyone would be so kind as to answer or point me in the right direction...
my elite is chipped/flashed/whatever, done at a local shop. i dont know what firmware is on it, so how do i find out?
ive heard that games can be patched to run wave 3 on earlier firmwares? is this true? and if so... how? lol
i dont use live with this machine (i have an unmodded box for that), so have no problem with this one being banned
im not to keen on flashing my elite myself, i will if i have no other choice though... and i can find countless 'how to's for that'.
so help me out please, what do i need to do to get downloading these games again?

You could try testing out wave 3 games and if they don't play, you know your firmware is under iXtreme 1.51. Or just dump the firmware to know exactly what firmware you have.

There are threads here about how to patch a Wave 3 game with Wave 2 info. I believe the members name is Wicky.

If you don't have Live and will NEVER use it, you could patch games. But it is much easier to update the firmware and never have to worry about patching games again.
