Old hitachi drive wont open

I have an old hitachi drive ver 47. For some reason the dvd stop open and close. when i hook it up to the connectivity kit and tell it to open/close on the kit it still doesnt open. I turn on my jungleflash and use the open and close on jungleflah it said "abort the command"and then it open an close if thr click on the button in jungleflash. But then when i put the xbox back the drive wont open/close again. Can someone tell what wrong with my drive.

Yes. I did flash the drive. I open it manually and put in a burned game and close it. It run fine. It just wont open/close

Check the drive belt.
