Hello,

I recently dug my xbox 360 out of the closet. It was modded in May of last year with an ixtreme firmware mod. Nothing else has been done to it since then. Since then, I know many new developments have come out, in terms of wave and firmware updates.

I believe that my mod allows me to play wave 3 games. I do not believe I ever tried to run a wave 4 game, with an activation cd or otherwise.

My question to you guys is: What new developments have taken place since i've been gone? Is there additional wave's past 4? Should I just go to someone to get the newest firmware installed? Is there a work around? Please let me know any information you guys would deem relevant, and I will be digging up information on my own in the interm.

Thanks so much for your help.

Loads has happend. Think we are on Wave 6 games now, latest firmware is IX LT 1.1.

But, if you have a console that has a dash version of 7xxx or earlier, you can open your console up to homebrew.

Research jtag.

This means you can play games off hard drive w/o disk, run emulators & apps and do other stuffs to.

Well my first bit of advice is don't make duplicate threads http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-152/..._advise-848858/ lol

We are currently on wave 6 at the moment.
Latest firmwares are:

iXtreme LT 1:1 = benq and liteon
iXtreme 1.61 = samsung (LT is currently being made)
iXtreme 1.51 = hitachi (boots all waves)

In the dashboard go to System Settings>Console Settings then scroll down to System Info. Your kernel version is shown here.

In this picture the 360 has the 8955 kernel applied. This console is not vulnerable.

8498 and Higher - Any console with a kernel 8498 and higher have been patched to stop the hack.

7371 and lower - Any console with the 7371 kernel or a lower version of the kernel are most likely vulnerable to the hack.

7371 - This is the "iffy" kernel. With this kernel you have to dump your NAND to make sure that you have a vulnerable CB. Some consoles with this kernel already have the patch applied to them and cannot be JTAG'd.

Wonderful, I also found a guide to walk me through this step by step.

I guess my only other thoughts were if my old wave 3 games would run safely, and if I had any means to patch 4-6 games and run them at my own risk on my current set up. I understand that this is very likely to get my console banned, if I can even do it.

Yeah you can patch games to a lower wave with 360 wavespatcher, however this will make you stick out like a sore thumb when connecting to live.

Perfect. Has there been any clarification on what / where information is stored regarding banning consoles?

I.e - When I used to be involved, it was unknown if disconnecting would do anything to prevent the console from being banned after being reconnected. It seemed as if information was phoned home after being reconnected, making the disconnect pointless.

Alot of people believe that the information is stored in the secdata, when the console connects to live (even if you disconnected before play) then the system will be flagged.

Is there currently a mod that isn't being banned from XBL? I used ixtreme 1.4 for the longest time but sold my 360 once it got banned in the wave. I just bought a new elite, and would really like to mod it again.
