not to piss people off but i am still not banned and my xbox is under warranty until 2010 sometime. my case is painted and i have read different answers everywhere but is it void since it's painted?

Also im guessing it is not this easy but can i just switch this case and dvd drive with a rrod xbox 360 and get it fixed?

your warranty most likely is void, because it will be obvious that there isn't over spray on the side grills and on the mobo from being painted as 1 piece. you could try putting it in a stock case but you would have to exchange serial stickers on the back.

Well as long as you didn't open the case when you painted/decorated it - your warranty should still be valid. Don't expect to get the same console back from the repair shop though.

There was a story awhile back about a guy who had a limited edition Halo console that had signatures from a bunch of Bungie Developers, when he sent it in for RROD they sent back either a different console or wiped the signatures off, but he still got a repaired xbox...and later a huge gift pack from Bungie.

Id call first and check or email them, then if theres any arguments later down the line you have some proof that you asked. better to be safe then sorry, especially if you put a lot of time and effort into the paint job.

hahaha not really i just have a jasper and figured it wouldn't red ring since almost none do. its just orange florescent paint to glow in my black lights in my room, nothing special just didn't want the white box.

i'd agree with the warranty answers, i doubt it affects your warranty. But if you didn't take the case apart and painted the xbox you could have gotten some paint on the board or the heatsinks which is not a good thing. Depending on the type of paint you used would be the issue. If you used an automotive paint or an acrylic then you are going to damage your system if you had too much spray in the box.
