Is there anyway to play backups directly off of the HDD? I am having issues with connecting my HDD to my laptop but I formatted a flash drive into a HDD and installed a game via xbox on it. Also have a game on my pc. Been searching for info for 2 hours

Search for "JTAG". Unless you have an older 360 that hasn't been played for about 2 years and haven't connected to LIVE, then you won't be able to "JTAG" your console. There are a lot of threads on this. The only other option is to buy the game (Games on Demand) to play directly from your HDD.
