I just bought the kinect motion sensor and i dont care about playing online as i never do. Anyway is it possible to play backup kinect games without the new dash update? If I need the the new dash update to play backups will it work or will my it screw up my 360 soi cant play anymore backups? If that happens will it affect all my other non kinect backups from playing? THANKS

The new update is what makes kinect work with the 360. Depending on which drive you have, (samsung, hitachi, BenQ, or Lite-On) will make the difference on whether or not you'll be able to play new backups. Samsung, and Hitachi v78 and older seem to boot everything after the update. If you have a BenQ or Lite-On, you'll have to wait for LT+ which will probably not be released until next year.... I'm able to successfully play all backups with my hitachi v78 with 1.51 version firmware. I'm sure that I'm flagged by now, so I'm keeping the console offline and updating via usb. I hope you have a samsung or hitachi v78 or older.

So i did some research and it seems that the drive i have is a Samsung. For some reason my 360 plays everything! It hasnt been flashed with a new FW in over 2 years, I dont know why but it just plays any backup new or old that I through at it, unlike my friends consoles who have to update new games with the new waves. So if i instal the new kinect dash will i be able to play my kinect backups offline? I also heard that Fable 3 doesnt work with the new dash, I wonder if it will work on mine.

samsung drive is not affected by the new security so you are fine to play whatever you want

So you telling me if I have a kinect and a flashed liteon, all my previous backups will no longer work?
sum1 already had stevedawg and stevedawg85 is longer than 10 chars :(

@scrap69: I'd be curious for an update - did you update your dash and get backups to load?
I too have a Samsung drive that plays pretty much everything I throw at it - but I can't get any of my Kinect backups to work for some reason. My Fable 3 is working just fine - but no Kinect backups.
Anyone have any ideas? For those of you that do have Kinect backups working, how are you burning them? what software and settings?

What firmware are you using? I have an old xbox with no hdmi and samsung drive using most recent xtreme not lt and it will not play kinect?

c4eva said earlier today that it would be available before Christmas, so the wait is just a little over a month (hopefully). No big deal, at least for me.

I have a LiteOn and am able to play kinect backups. Actually the only one I tried thus far has been dance central. It worked perfectly, as did brotherhood.
