I have a samsungxbox modded with ixtreme 1.6, but it has never been connected to xbox live after I modded the xbox. So, as of right now, I still have a modded xbox that is not banned since it has never been online.
I am trying to play a burned movie on my xbox and it is telling me that it needs an update. I assume the only way to update this and get my movies to play again is to connect to xbox live.
If I do this, will I get banned? Also, if I do get banned, can I still play movies?
ive actually gotten the media update recently with a modded xbox 1.6 ixtreme ...i had a older one that got banned but it seems..again theory when you launch games connected to live it was asking for a unusual game update that i assume is what probed to check fw the update didnt seem like a game patch or anything just a weird like..check imo or w.e..but thats another delusion....everyone will say its at your own risk do it if you feel comfortable if you do though i would do it without a disc in the drive tray
so you did not get banned with your modded xbox? and you updated with all updates?
I have another stock xbox, so I connected that one to xbox live and saved the update system files to my memory card. I put this memory card in my other xbox to try and update without getting on live, but I it didnt work with just the memory card in it. Can I use this file on the memory card and somehow put it on the xbox system memory to get the update to work?
well the only update i got was the optional media update for video playback
and i think it didnt work because before the media update installs it has to get digitally signed or something to your console via live
but again i only did the update for the optional media nothing else no game patches or w.e imgonna wait till lite touch comes out to do all that
Im willing to bet that burned movie is AVI, which leads the 360 to need an update as some media cant play unless u get the latest update. If you have to watch it that bad, id suggest getting the external dvd player. Find a friend whos online , and update the software for the DVD player then slap it back on yours, you should be fine then,
